Constipation and Remedies

Constipation is a common condition that affects many people around us. Then the question is, how does it happens? and what are the precautions have to taken to avoid it or what are the remedies to get rid of this condition? Let me share some information on this subject...

First question-How does it happens? 

Constipation happens when you have trouble passing stool, or when your bowel movements are infrequent or hard to pass. There are several factors that can contribute to constipation. Some of them are...

  • Diet: Maintaining good diet is important in the well being of our body and mind. Not eating enough fiber-rich foods, such as fruits vegetables and whole grains are a major reason for the constipation. So include fruits and vegetables with your daily diet.
  • Dehydration: Not drinking enough water. Nowadays most of the people are working with computer in an airconditioned office room and not drinking sufficient water is also a major reason for dehydration. Ensure that you are drinking at least a glass of water in an hour.
  • Lack of Exercise: Like the diet, exercise is also an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise will not only help you to maintain a healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels but also it will feel you recharged throughout the day and thereby it will help you to control the mental stress. Lack of exercise is also a reason for constipation ,obesity and lifestyle diseases. 
  • Medications: Certain medications can cause constipation as side effect. Always note that eat well when you are taking medicines and drink sufficient water. By eating well and drinking sufficient water can help you to control the side effects from the medicine.
  • Medical Conditions: Conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or hypothyroidism can contribute to constipation.

Symptoms of Constipations

  • Infrequent bowel movements
  • Hard, lumpy stools
  • Straining during bowel movements
  • Abdominal pain or bloating
  • The feeling of incomplete bowel movements

How to Relieve Constipation

  • Eat High-Fiber Diet: By including fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your meals will help you to relieve from constipation.
  • Drink Plenty of Water: Stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking water at regular intervals.
  • Exercise Regularly: Do at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week.

Don't forget to consult a Doctor

Don't hesitate to consult a doctor, if your constipation is severe, persistent or accompanied by other symptoms like rectal bleeding or significant abdominal pain.

 Stay Healthy with Good diet, Drink Water and Do Regular Exercise.
