World NGO Day/Global Hunger Index
February 27 is considered as World NGO Day. What are NGOs? NGOs are Non-Governmental Organizations generally working for the betterment of the society and the world without expecting any kind of financial aid from Government/Trust or people. In simple words, they are non-profit organization/trust or a group of voluntary people working with a similar interest for the betterment of the society and the world. Save the Children, Amnesty International, Oxfam International, Doctors Without Borders, CARE International, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Greenpeace etc. are examples of few well known NGOs.
